Medical Pregnancy Terminations

A termination, commonly referred to as an abortion, is a medical procedure that ends a pregnancy. This process can be performed for various reasons, including personal, medical, or social factors that make continuing the pregnancy untenable for the woman involved.

What is a Pregnancy Termination?

A pregnancy termination (often referred to as an abortion) is a medical procedure that ends a pregnancy. This process can be performed for various reasons, including personal, medical, or social factors that make continuing the pregnancy untenable for the woman involved. The decision to undergo a termination is often complex and deeply personal, involving careful consideration of many aspects of the individual’s circumstances, health, and future. Eaton & Australind Medical Centre approaches this sensitive matter with utmost respect, confidentiality, and professionalism, providing comprehensive care and support to women considering this option. Our practice is committed to offering empathetic guidance, ensuring that all patients are informed of their choices, including the potential risks and benefits of the procedure, allowing them to make a decision.

Methods of Pregnancy Termination

There are two primary methods of pregnancy termination: medical and surgical. Medical pregnancy termination involves taking medication that causes the pregnancy to end and is generally used in the early stages of pregnancy. This method allows the process to occur in the privacy of the patient’s home. Surgical pregnancy termination, on the other hand, involves a minor procedure to remove the pregnancy from the uterus and is performed by a healthcare professional in a clinic or hospital setting. At Eaton & Australind Medical Centre, we provide detailed information about both methods, supporting our patients in choosing the option that suits their health, circumstances, and stage of pregnancy.
